About the Firm:

A highly regarded boutique law firm based in London is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to lead its cashiering function within a busy and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in all aspects of legal cashiering, combined with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently. This role will involve close collaboration with the Practice Director to implement the new SRA SAR regulations set to launch later this year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing daily bank reconciliations and client billing
• Conducting daily banking and processing transactions through Natwest Bankline
• Posting cheques, counsel, and expert fee payments to the ledgers
• Managingpurchase ledgers, petty cash, and staff expense claims
• Raising cheques for court fees and processing partner credit card transactions
• Handling month-end journals, year-end transactions, and collaborating with auditors for SRA audits
• Organising and executing internal account transfers and tracking the firm’s referral scheme payouts
• Holding monthly meetings with the COFA to ensure compliance and smooth operations
• Assisting partners and fee earners with ad hoc financial duties

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of legal cashiering experience covering both client and office accounts
• Strong billing experience and understanding of VAT treatment on disbursements
• Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task
• A proactive and 'can-do' attitude
• Familiarity with SOS accounting packages
• Experience using Lexis Nexis Visual Files
• Salary up to £45,000 DOE
