Job summary

Liverpool Hope University is seeking a Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Learning) in Education – Secondary History to contribute to the History PGCE provision. The post is fixed-term until 9 July 2027 and 0.5 FTE, involving teaching, curriculum development and trainee support.

The successful candidate will bring strong subject expertise in history and a commitment to social justice and inclusion, with experience in HEI, ITE curriculum development, and school partnerships.

Qualifications

• Strong subject expertise in history.
• Experience in HEI, ITE curriculum development, school leadership.
• Ability to offer additionality to the role and to work across multiple key stages.

Responsibilities

• Teach on the History PGCE programme and contribute to the research-informed curriculum.
• Provide pastoral support to trainees and participate in recruitment activities.
• Visit trainees in Partnership schools and support school-based mentors; build and strengthen school relationships.
