Job summary

Liverpool Hope University is seeking an experienced Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Learning) in Secondary History to join the School of Education on a fixed-term basis until 9 July 2027. The role involves teaching on the History PGCE, developing a research-informed curriculum, and supporting trainees and school partners.

The ideal candidate will have strong subject expertise in History, HEI/ITE experience, and a commitment to social justice and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated history teaching expertise with a focus on secondary education or teacher training.
• Experience in HEI or ITE curriculum development is advantageous.
• Ability to mentor trainees and contribute to recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach on the History PGCE programme and contribute to curriculum development.
• Provide pastoral support to trainees and visit trainees in Partnership schools.
• Support school-based mentors and contribute to wider programme activities.
