University of Lancashire in Preston invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing to support the delivery and development of Vision Sciences teaching, quality assurance, and assessment of courses at undergraduate and non-credit levels.

The successful candidate will be GOC registered as an Optometrist with an Optometry degree and a teaching qualification or AdvanceHE Descriptor 2, plus proven HE teaching experience and flexible delivery skills.

Qualificações

• Registration with the General Optical Council as an Optometrist (minimum 2 year requirement) is essential.
• Undergraduate degree in Optometry and a Formal teaching qualification or Fellowship (AdvanceHE Descriptor 2).

About the role:

The School wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing to support the delivery and continual development of the Vision Sciences educational provision, quality assurance, and assessment of credit and non-credit bearing courses in this area.

About you:

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in Higher Education alongside a flexible approach to teaching. Registration with the General Optical Council as an Optometrist (minimum 2 year requirement) is essential as well as an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Optometry and a Formal teaching qualification or Fellowship (Descriptor 2) of AdvanceHE.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
