Job summary

University of Lancashire in Preston invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing to support the delivery and development of Vision Sciences teaching, quality assurance, and assessment of courses at undergraduate and non-credit levels.

The successful candidate will be GOC registered as an Optometrist with an Optometry degree and a teaching qualification or AdvanceHE Descriptor 2, plus proven HE teaching experience and flexible delivery skills.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in Higher Education with a flexible approach to teaching.
• Registration with the General Optical Council as an Optometrist (minimum 2 year requirement) is essential.
• Undergraduate degree in Optometry and a Formal teaching qualification or Fellowship (AdvanceHE Descriptor 2).

Responsibilities

• Support delivery and continual development of Vision Sciences courses.
• Quality assurance and assessment of credit and non-credit bearing courses in Vision Sciences.
