Callerton Academy, a new secondary school opened in September 2021 as part of the Gosforth Group, aims to foster high expectations and standards of achievement. Currently located in a state-of-the-art building in Newcastle’s Grainger Town, we will move to a new Westerhope site in September 2025, serving around 1,200 students from Year 7 to Year 11. Our staff are highly valued and supported to become exceptional practitioners.
We are seeking three Senior Learning and Pastoral Supervisors to join our team (1x to start ASAP and 2x in September 2025). Responsibilities include providing pastoral support, mentoring students, managing behaviour, liaising with parents, and supporting safeguarding efforts alongside the DSL and Deputy DSL. The role requires empathy, practicality, and the ability to be firm and sensitive. Experience in a school or youth work is preferred. The role involves day-to-day pastoral support, occasional lesson supervision, and supporting students in isolation or internal exclusion. Until our new building opens, duties also include accompanying students on transport from Simonside Primary School, with working hours from 8am to 4pm.
