The Learning Development teams will collaborate with academic and professional services staff to design and deliver inclusive, innovative learning and assessment activities embedded within the curriculum. These activities will engage students and develop their academic English and literacies, ensuring integrity and confidence in their academic practice while accommodating learning differences. The team will establish scaffolded co-curricular, small group, short course, and one-to-one support to help students consolidate, fill gaps, and improve skills to maximize successful program outcomes.
The Senior Learning Developer will use relevant credentials and experience to understand and address the needs of the diverse student cohort, particularly within the College of Health, Science and Society (CHSS). They will lead staff teaching and facilitating learning, adopting inclusive approaches to ensure equity and meet learning outcomes. This includes teaching, coaching, role modeling effective strategies, and embracing new technologies to foster academic and AI literacy throughout students’ learning journey.
This role involves providing tailored academic and assessment literacy support, participating in university meetings, collaborating with academic staff, attending professional development events, and engaging in peer support to uphold high-quality practice.
You will be qualified at a graduate level or have equivalent experience, along with a relevant professional qualification or experience in areas such as Librarianship, Learning Development, University Teaching, or Higher Education Fellowship. Evidence of ongoing CPD is required.
You should possess strong knowledge and expertise in learning development, supporting academic literacy, and leading curriculum-integrated initiatives. Understanding pedagogical principles for blended, online, and classroom delivery is essential. Effective communication skills and familiarity with digital developments are also necessary.
