Job summary

Anne Corder Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Production & Continuous Improvement Engineer in Barnsley to drive efficiency, quality, productivity and cost reduction through lean methods and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will lead cross-functional projects, introduce new components, and optimise production layouts while developing teams and embedding lean principles across the site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Experience in production engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Previous experience leading projects, managing priorities, and influencing stakeholders across multiple departments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills; ability to coach and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support production engineering projects focused on improving efficiency, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives using techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Management, Kanban, and waste elimination methodologies.
• Manage the introduction of new components and engineering changes, ensuring accurate production documentation, BOMs, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process optimisation and operational improvements.
• Support the development of manufacturing layouts, workflow improvements, tooling, fixtures, and production systems to maximise operational performance.
