Job summary

Nicholas Associates in South Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Production & Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead the Production Engineering function across existing operations and new product introductions.

You will drive Lean Manufacturing and CI initiatives, identifying inefficiencies, implementing durable improvements, and collaborating with production, engineering, quality and supply chain teams to improve performance and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Experience in production/manufacturing engineering environments.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement track record.
• Experience delivering measurable operational efficiencies and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Production Engineering team across existing operations and new product launches.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).
• Identify non-value-added activities, improve productivity, reduce waste and control costs.
• Support introduction of new products, manage engineering changes and ensure production readiness.
• Maintain and improve BOMs, manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
• Develop efficient production layouts, including cellular manufacturing and flow lines.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and identify cost reductions.
• Promote 5S and Visual Factory standards and support training of staff.
