Job summary

Starling Bank seeks a Head of Financial Crime Operations Transformation for a 6-month fixed-term contract. Based in the UK with hybrid travel to Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester, the role drives end-to-end transformation across AML/CTF/CDD/EDD in the First Line of Defence.

Qualifications

Deep subject matter expertise in UK Financial Crime regulatory guidelines, MLRs, JMLSG, PEPs, and Sanctions.
Technical competency in understanding models, data, MI, statistical analysis, and operational workflows.
Proven track record of managing and transforming financial crime operations and risk frameworks within regulated banking.

Responsibilities

Oversee the Operations transformation and operational delivery for AML, CTF, CDD, and EDD across customer segments in line with SLAs.
Ensure alert handling and case reviews are responded to in a high-quality, timely manner, maintaining resources to handle workload demand and KPIs/OKRs/KRIs.
Lead continuous improvement of the control environment to reduce false positives and drive risk-based decisions.
Partner with SME leadership and commercial teams to align financial crime capabilities for SME customers.
