Job summary

hackajob is partnering with JPMorgan Chase to hire a Senior Lead Software Engineer for the eTrading team. The role focuses on secure, scalable, high-performance systems with deep technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities.

Ideal candidates will have formal software engineering credentials, 10 years of experience, and strong C/C++ skills, plus cloud-native and AI governance experience in a Financial Services context.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced knowledge of C and C++.
• Experience leading enterprise AI-assisted development tools and governance.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows, data sensitivity and security.
• Experience coaching senior engineers on compliant usage patterns and controls.
• Advanced knowledge across cloud, AI/ML, or mobile disciplines.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
• Practical cloud-native experience.
• Experience in Financial Services industry.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput and low-latency systems.
• Hands-on experience in electronic trading systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to business teams, contractors and vendors.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code.
• Drive decisions affecting product design, functionality and operations.
• Serve as a function-wide SME in one or more areas of focus.
• Contribute to engineering community with SDLC and tooling practices.
• Influence peers to adopt leading-edge technologies.
• Promote diversity and inclusive team culture.
• Drive adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Establish measurable validation standards including secure coding and automated testing.
• Promote reuse of proven patterns and automation in SDLC and toolchain.
• Apply SDLC tools with approved AI-assisted capabilities to scale automation.
