Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in London is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join an agile team and design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way.

You will build robust software across front-end and back-end stacks, mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure high-quality production code using Java 17+ and OMS integrations. This role requires strong collaboration and a proactive approach to stay ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Expert in Java (17+).
• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and Java GC.
• Experience with multi-threaded and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Develop and maintain high-quality user interfaces for web applications using JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks, with a preference for React/Angular.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain at the forefront of innovation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain OMS solutions using Java 17+
• Collaborate with team members to deliver robust, scalable software
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Participate in code reviews and deployment
