Job summary

Amber Labs, a UK technology consultancy, is seeking Senior and Lead DevOps Engineers to help modernise a State Pension platform. You will design and run secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure, build Kubernetes-based platforms and drive automation and CI/CD practices across delivery teams.

The role requires BPSS clearance, strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and a collaborative, agile mindset. Hybrid remote-first working with travel to Newcastle every couple of months is expected.

Qualifications

• BPSS clearance or eligibility is required.
• Extensive hands-on AWS cloud experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerised workloads.
• Strong networking knowledge in cloud/enterprise environments.
• Autonomous, proactive and able to work in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Build and maintain modern cloud platforms for pension services.
• Develop containerised environments using Kubernetes.
• Ensure security, resilience and operational efficiency.
• Deploy and optimise workloads across development, test and production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile delivery.
• Lead DevOps practices and guide junior engineers.
