Job summary
Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Senior Layout Engineer for the Fuelling Block. You will lead integrated layout and installation design across mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, ensuring safety, operability and constructability while coordinating multiple engineering disciplines.
This role offers hybrid working with Manchester, Warrington or Derby as anchors and requires interaction with Nuclear Safety teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership.
- Experience leading complex layout, integration or installation design activities through concept to detailed design phases in regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of requirements management, governance, risk management and design reviews.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of integrated layout and installation solutions for the Fuelling Block, balancing safety, operability, maintainability and delivery.
- Coordinate interfaces across Mechanical Handling, Components, Systems Engineering, Civil, Architecture and Operations.
- Drive technical decisions through design reviews, trade-off studies and robust engineering methodologies.
