Job summary

Simmons & Hanbury is seeking a high-quality senior commercial lawyer to join its in-house team on a 12-month FTC starting in September, supporting the General Counsel. The role is varied, handling day-to-day UK legal queries and a range of commercial contracts.

Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts, managing external counsel, and developing templates and processes for internal clients, with training and development for colleagues. In-house experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day legal queries for the UK business.
• Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts for suppliers, agencies and software, consumer contracts, marketing law (terms and conditions, promotions and advertising campaigns).
• Technology projects.
• Stakeholder management.
• Advise on high level consumer complaints.
• Instructing and managing external lawyers.
• Creating template documents and processes as necessary.

The role

The business is seeking a high quality senior commercial lawyer to join its in-house team on a 12 month FTC starting in September, supporting the General Counsel. This is an interesting and varied position.

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts for suppliers, agencies and software, consumer contracts, marketing law (terms and conditions, promotions and advertising campaigns.

About you

• Significant commercial legal experience
• Strong academics
• In-house experience essential either gained on secondment or working in-house permanently.
