Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment Ltd in Oxford is seeking an experienced Laser Applications Development Engineer to lead hands-on R&D in laser micromachining for glass and photonic components. You will work with ultrafast laser systems to optimise processes and validate prototypes.

The role requires a degree in Physics, Optical/Engineering, or related field, with practical femtosecond laser experience and knowledge of Python, MATLAB or C++.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in laser engineering, physics, optical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with ultrafast laser technologies, especially femtosecond lasers.
• Experience with laser micromachining, ideally involving glass.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on experimentation, testing and validation of laser processes.
• Integrate prototype systems and troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Work with optical components, motion control and instrumentation to improve system performance.
• Collaborate with software teams to optimise laser-based solutions.
