Job summary

Lead Careers are partnering with a well-established landscape architecture consultancy in Birmingham to recruit a Senior Landscape Planner. You’ll bring LVIA expertise, manage projects, and influence development proposals through planning processes.

The role offers hybrid working, a varied workload across projects, and the chance to mentor junior colleagues while developing your technical knowledge and client-facing skills within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• LVIA and landscape planning expertise required.
• Degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Solid LVIA experience and landscape assessments.
• Good understanding of GLVIA3 and UK planning system.
• Strong report-writing and attention to detail.
• Experience managing projects and dealing with clients.
• Confidence to advise and take responsibility.
• Positive attitude and collaboration.
• Chartered status with LI or pursuing it.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing LVIAs, LVAs and TVIAs across a variety of projects.
• Undertaking landscape character assessments, sensitivity studies and site appraisals.
• Providing landscape planning advice to clients and wider project teams.
• Contributing to EIAs and supporting planning applications.
• Getting out on site to undertake surveys, assess viewpoints and understand the landscape you’re writing about.
• Managing your own projects, keeping things moving and making sure deadlines are met.
• Working alongside other consultants, planners and environmental specialists.
• Supporting junior colleagues and sharing your knowledge and experience.
