Job summary

BYLOR is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Surveyor for the Hinkley Point C project. You will help establish and manage a robust survey control network, ensuring precise measurements across all phases of the civil works.

The role requires leading a new survey team and coordinating with project stakeholders on-site and in offices. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, proven experience with survey networks and large infrastructure projects, and strong IT and data interpretation

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a similar senior surveying role.
• Experience establishing survey networks on large projects.
• Specialist engineering surveying skills.
• Experience on large infrastructure projects (civil/nuclear).
• Team management experience.
• Experience with MicroSurvey StarNet or equivalent.
• Proficiency with survey hardware and software.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description

Senior Civil Engineering Surveyor positions are now available with Bylor at Hinkley Point C. We are forming a new survey team to operate in parallel with our existing function and are looking for experienced surveyors to support the delivery of one of Europe's largest and most complex civil engineering and nuclear projects.

Location

Unless stated otherwise, all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.

Function

Civil engineering surveying involves the measurement, analysis, and design of land and structures. Surveying provides technical support and information used throughout all phases of the project. In this role you will establish and implement a comprehensive survey control network designed for this scope, ensuring precise and consistent measurements across all project activities.

Role & Responsibilities

• Report to Project Civil Surveyor

• Work both on site and in an office as required
• Utilise state‑of‑the‑art survey equipment and technology such as Leica TS16/MSc60 Robots, Leica RTC360, Leica GNSS or similar
• Use software including Civil3D, AutoCAD, Leica Infinity, Leica Cyclone3RD, MicroSurvey Star*Net, Microsoft Office, Excel
