Job summary

Google Public Sector is hiring a Security Platform Engineer to design, build, and run cloud-native security platforms focused on Kubernetes environments. You will develop scalable tooling, automate controls, and enable robust detection and response across our private cloud deployments in the UK.

This role requires on-site work at a Wiltshire satellite site or London, with rotating on-call outside core hours. Deep cloud and security expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/InfoSec or equivalent experience.
• 5 years in security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience with Python/Go/Bash scripting.
• Kubernetes security incl. RBAC, network policies, workload isolation.
• IaC/Config mgmt with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD.
• DV UK security clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, CWPP).
• Develop and implement security monitoring and logging strategies.
• Investigate incidents: root cause, scope, containment, remediation.
• Forensic analysis of suspicious activity.
• Automate security tasks and workflows to boost efficiency.
