Job summary

Google Public Sector in the UK seeks a Security Platform Engineer for the UK Security Operations team. You will design, build, and operate cloud-native security platforms with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based environments.

You will be at the intersection of security and engineering, developing scalable tooling and automated security controls to protect our cloud workloads. In this on-site role, you will work with Incident Response and platform teams to integrate security across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, information security, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform roles.
• Experience with Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes security, RBAC and network policies.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud security platform tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and CWPP.
• Develop and implement security monitoring and logging strategies.
• Investigate and analyse security incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Perform forensic analysis to identify and investigate suspicious activity.
• Automate security tasks and workflows to improve efficiency.
