Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Senior Kitchen Porter at Ashtead Park, Ashtead, Surrey. You will help keep the kitchen hygienic to high standards and support chefs and managers in daily operations.

Benefits include free parking on site, free meals on duty, cycle to work, and ongoing training with a leading independent catering contractor. Prior kitchen porter experience is preferred; good English skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor chemical/stock levels and end-of-day checks.
• Oversee the work of Kitchen Porters and create daily schedules.
• Work with Manager and Chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist Chefs with some food preparation.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Operate the industrial dishwasher.

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: 13.72
Hours: 40 per week

A day and boarding co-educational school for pupils from year 3 to 6th form in Ashtead Park, Surrey. Catering for 950 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, lunch, supper, tuckshop twice daily, 6th form café, internal and external hospitality. This is a mix of term time only, term time plus 4 weeks and 52 week depending on role and operates 7 days a week. Additional benefit to this location is free parking on site.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Ashtead Park.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

• Manage and monitor chemical stock levels.
• Arrange and complete end-of-day checks.
• Oversee the work and duties of the Kitchen Porters.
• Create and organise daily schedules for the Kitchen Porters.
• Work closely with the Manager and Chefs to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.
• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Great team player.
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials, including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher.

We are looking for

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred.
