Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join our Cyber & Security Solutions Division in Yeovil. You’ll support and enhance enterprise ITSM platforms, deliver secure, scalable solutions, and collaborate across engineering and service teams to meet operational needs.

The role embraces agile delivery, governance compliance, and continuous improvement, with a blended hybrid working model and opportunities to mentor juniors while contributing to critical national security projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with ITSM platforms and secure, scalable application support.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve moderately complex software issues.
• Understanding of application lifecycle management and secure-by-design principles.
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering and business teams.
• Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Support, configure, and enhance ITSM platforms (e.g. Jira Service Management).
• Deliver engineering tasks within defined work packages aligning with security requirements and SLAs.
• Contribute to application architecture, integration, and lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, service management, and business teams to resolve issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Participate in automation, documentation, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with governance, ITSM processes, and cyber security policies.
