Rebel Recruitment Limited is helping a Nottingham employer hire a Senior Java Software Engineer. You’ll be hands-on in Data Engineering, with Java, Spring Boot, AWS and microservices, using TDD/BDD to deliver robust data solutions.

Based in Nottingham City Centre, the role requires 3 days in the office (Tue-Thu). You’ll lead from the front, ensure best practices, and collaborate across teams to build APIs, new features, and well-tested, well-documented code.

The company I’m recruiting for is a household name- they’re a global enterprise with a strong local presence in Nottingham.

I am looking for a number of Senior Software Engineers to join them in a few small teams; you’ll be fully hands‑on and you’ll be working with a core tech stack of Java, Spring Boot, AWS, microservices and using techniques such as TDD and BDD.

You’ll go into one of the Data Engineering teams where they’re doing some really cool stuff; they’re all helping to build solutions to modernise and streamline data sharing within the company.

There are around 5 people in each team and you’ll all have plenty of work to be getting on with, across a range of areas, such as APIs, microservices, new features, bug fixing, etc. You’re the kind of person who loves to lead from the front; making sure that everything you produce follows best practice, is well‑tested (by you, they don’t have QAs), and well‑documented.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to not only make your mark on the team you’re in, but to collaborate across the company with some really intelligent and interesting people. Progression here is excellent; they encourage movement throughout the company, both up the seniority ladder and across different functions.
