Job summary

Rebel Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Senior Java Software Engineer in Nottingham City Centre. You will be hands-on with a core stack including Java, Spring Boot, AWS and microservices, delivering data solutions.

Expect 3 days in the office (Tue-Thu) with excellent benefits and a busy, collaborative team. You will join Data Engineering squads of ~5 people, focus on APIs, new features, bug fixes, and architecture.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in Java ecosystem and OO design patterns.
• Experience building data solutions and APIs is preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own backend services using Java/Spring Boot.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain microservices in AWS-based data solutions.
• Lead by example, ensure code quality, testing, and documentation.

The company I m recruiting for is a household name- they re a global enterprise with a strong local presence in Nottingham.

I am looking for a number of Senior Software Engineers to join them in a few small teams; you ll be fully hands-on and you ll be working with a core tech stack of Java, Spring Boot, AWS, microservices and using techniques such as TDD and BDD.

You ll go into one of the Data Engineering teams where they re doing some really cool stuff; they re all helping to build solutions to modernise and streamline data sharing within the company.

There are around 5 people in each team and you ll all have plenty of work to be getting on with, across a range of areas, such as APIs, microservices, new features, bug fixing, etc. You re the kind of person who loves to lead from the front; making sure that everything you produce follows best practice, is well-tested (by you, they don t have QAs), and well-documented.

You ll have plenty of opportunities to not only make your mark on the team you re in, but to collaborate across the company with some really intelligent and interesting people. Progression here is excellent; they encourage movement throughout the company, both up the seniority ladder and across different functions.
