Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Glasgow seeks a Software Engineer III to join the Corporate Technology Credit Risk team. You will design and deliver secure, scalable technology products supporting credit risk objectives and collaborate with cross-functional partners in an agile environment.

You will build secure Java back-end services, deliver responsive React front-end features, and optimize data models and SQL queries to enable risk reporting and analytics.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability across enterprise-scale environments.
• Proficiency in Java for back-end development with modern frameworks.
• Experience developing front-end solutions using React or similar frameworks.
• Experience using enterprise-enabled AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling within team practices.
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for applications and analytics.
• Solid understanding of Agile, CI/CD, resiliency, and secure coding standards.
• Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and maintain code in a large corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure, high-quality Java-based applications and services aligned to architectural standards.
• Build and maintain responsive front-end features using React for risk analysts and stakeholders.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and automated testing.
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve value of automation.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene, system architecture, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions for credit risk challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement via code reviews and sharing reusable patterns.
