Job summary

JPMorganChase in Glasgow is seeking a Software Engineer III to design and deliver secure, scalable credit risk technology. You will contribute to Java back-end services and React front-end features while applying AI-assisted development tools within an enterprise-grade SDLC.

You will collaborate with product, architecture and business teams to drive resilient platforms and data-driven risk insights across global operations.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability across enterprise-scale environments.
• Proficiency in Java for back-end application development, including experience with modern frameworks and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience developing and maintaining front-end solutions using React or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure, high-quality Java-based applications and services that support credit risk workflows.
• Build and maintain responsive front-end features using React for risk analysts and stakeholders.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and data models for reporting and analytics across credit risk platforms.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications ensuring constraints are met.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
