Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect, implement and deploy services end-to-end, building scalable, event-driven systems on AWS using Java and Kotlin. You will mentor juniors and help shape design decisions.

The role focuses on containers on EKS, Kafka, EventBridge, SQS and Terraform, with Spring ecosystem. Hybrid work in London with 3 days onsite.

Qualifications

• Strong Java or Kotlin experience with end-to-end service development.
• Proficiency in the Spring ecosystem (Boot, REST, Data).
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging (Kafka, EventBridge, SNS, SQS).
• Kubernetes tooling (Helm) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Payments domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and deploy large-scale services used by thousands of users.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical interviews.
• Own end-to-end design and architecture of software services.
• Improve responsiveness and performance of web services.
• Work with AWS-based containerised microservices.
