Job summary

Runa is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement and deploy backend services. You will work with Java and Kotlin in an event-driven, containerised cloud environment, guiding junior engineers and shaping architecture across distributed systems.

You will join a hybrid London team, building scalable payment infrastructure with modern tooling (Kafka, AWS, Terraform) to move money efficiently and securely for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and Spring framework.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with containerisation and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement and deploy software services end-to-end.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to system design reviews.
• Build scalable, reliable services running on AWS with container orchestration.
