Job summary

Rullion is seeking Principal, Lead, or Senior Software Engineers in Liverpool on a hybrid 2 days per week onsite basis for an initial 6-month contract. You will design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable software while providing technical leadership across Agile squads.

You will work on modern cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS, champion engineering best practices, and mentor other engineers to drive continuous improvement across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience developing enterprise-scale software applications using Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Proven experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Experience designing, building, integrating, and supporting complex software solutions.
• Experience developing secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing applications.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing and modern software engineering practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Build secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud-native applications.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering Managers, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical software.
• Contribute to software architecture, technical design, and technology selection.
• Champion engineering best practices, coding standards, and secure software development principles.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, testing, debugging, and production support.
• Identify and resolve technical risks, performance issues, and delivery challenges.
• Develop reusable components, shared frameworks, and engineering standards.
• Mentor and support other engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate across engineering communities to promote innovation and continuous improvement.
