Job summary

The London Metal Exchange Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer to advance LMEsmart—our Inter-Office Trading platform. You will engineer resilient integrations and workflows, automate test tooling, and drive real-time performance insights across trading operations.

You will work with Java (JVM), cloud environments, Kafka, and containerized deployments to streamline governance and reliability. Strong collaboration with IT and business stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of software development experience with Java (JVM).
• Experience with cloud infrastructures and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with data streaming (Kafka) and big-data processing concepts.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile/XP/Kanban/Lean software development.
• Version control with Git and secure software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Engineer resilient Inter-Office integrations and workflows for LMEsmart.
• Develop automation of test tooling and framework for Inter-Office Trading platform.
• Onboard vendor tools, analyze requirements, develop and deploy solutions.
• Evolve automated test suite with actionable MI and robust automation foundation.
• Communicate insights to IT and Business stakeholders; manage test environments.
