Job summary

The London Metal Exchange invites applications for a senior software engineer to advance LMEsmart, the Inter-Office Trading platform. You will engineer resilient integrations, optimize price-band governance, and surface real-time matching performance to reduce manual effort and strengthen market oversight.

You will also lead automation of test tooling, deploy vendor tools, and document solutions while expanding an automated test suite.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in software development with Java and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructures and memory-mapped data structures.
• Experience with distributed systems and data streaming (Kafka).
• Familiar with Scrum, Agile, Kanban, or Lean.
• Understanding of DevOps and secure software development.
• Experience with version control (Git).

Responsibilities

• Develop automation and test tooling for Inter-Office Trading platform.
• Onboard vendor tools and analyze requirements.
• Develop, deploy and document solutions for automation.
• Execute and evolve the automated test suite with actionable MI/reporting.
• Manage test environments to keep codebases and infrastructure understood.
