Job summary

Halian | Managed Services, Recruitment Agency & Contract Staffing partners with a fast-growing UK HealthTech scale-up transforming hospitals with cloud-based technology. They’re hiring two Senior Java Developers to build scalable microservices and help shape the platform used by NHS Trusts.

You’ll join a high-performing team of 20+ engineers, work on greenfield and evolving systems, and drive CI/CD, testing and software quality.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in Java.
• Solid experience with SQL / relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or modern Java frameworks.
• Experience working on SaaS platforms.
• Background in large-scale or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable Java-based microservices.
• Contributing to greenfield development and system architecture.
• Building full-stack functionality (Java backend + JavaScript).
• Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders across the business.
• Driving best practices in CI/CD, testing, and software quality.
• Supporting delivery of long-term strategic projects.
• Mentoring junior developers and contributing to team growth.
• Playing a role in shaping technical direction and engineering standards.
