Citi is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer for FX Options Risk (VP) to design, develop, and optimize our high-throughput, real-time risk system. You will work on low-latency processing, collaborate with the FX Options Trading desk, and guide the team with architectural excellence.

The role requires deep Core Java expertise, experience with real-time streaming, and familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms. A hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Extensive Java development in low-latency, distributed environments.
• Strong FX trading knowledge or real-time risk systems experience is highly preferred.
• Proven track record as an individual contributor delivering high-throughput distributed systems.
• Hands-on with real-time stream processing and distributed data architectures (Kafka/Storm).
• Familiar with modern infrastructure, containerization and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize FX real-time risk infrastructure for high performance and availability.
• Provide architectural input, code reviews, and mentorship to engineers.
• Collaborate with FX trading desk and risk managers to translate requirements into software designs.
• Drive technical strategy as the risk platform modernizes and migrates.
• Ensure security, scalability, and stability across the portfolio.
