Job summary

Wise in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior backend engineer to join the Continuous Delivery platform. You will primarily work with Java and Go, extending Spinnaker and building services around it.

This hands-on role shapes the platform’s technical direction and requires turning complex requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions. You will collaborate with Platform Engineering and other teams to design, implement, and operate deployment capabilities, improve telemetry, and help scale

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production systems in Java.
• Experience designing distributed services and APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate capabilities within Wise’s Continuous Delivery platform.
• Evolve Spinnaker usage and contribute improvements upstream.
• Build guardrails for safe deployments.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams to improve foundations.
