Job summary

Allstate Northern Ireland Limited seeks a Software Engineer - Senior Consultant II for a hybrid Belfast role. You will design, build, and operate billing-related software, collaborating with product, engineering, and operations to deliver reliable services across cloud platforms and scalable systems.

You will contribute to architecture, pair programming, and a culture of test-driven development, while mentoring junior colleagues and driving CI/CD improvements in a fast-evolving domain.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Java (Spring Boot)
• Experience developing scalable RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures with Kafka
• Strong TDD and automated testing practices (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber)

Responsibilities

• Architectural input and design collaboration
• Paired programming and test-driven development
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Lead and mentor junior team members on technologies and XP practices
• Support software products in user environments and participate in standups
