Job summary

The role focuses on designing, developing and supporting scalable microservices, with strong collaboration across development lifecycles. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Strong commercial experience developing Java applications and JVM based technologies.
• Strong Java, Spring and Spring Boot experience.
• Experience designing and developing microservices based applications.
• Proven experience building and supporting Java microservices in production.
• Strong experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
• Strong problem solving skills, with a focus on scalable, reliable and maintainable software.
• SQL and relational databases.

A leading Financial Services organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Microservices Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) to join an established Agile engineering team, designing, developing and supporting scalable microservices.

You’ll work closely with engineering and architecture teams across the development lifecycle, contributing to technical design, code reviews and engineering best practice.

The role is mainly remote, with one day per week in the Leicester office. It is offering a base salary of circa £65,000, plus an excellent benefits package.

As a Senior Microservices Engineer, you’ll develop Java-based microservices using Spring Boot, while helping to identify and resolve technical issues and ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
