Job summary

First Derivative is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a fast-moving delivery team building a new regulatory reporting platform for a global financial services client. The role focuses on MiFID II transaction reporting, trade transparency, and instrument data within a cloud-native microservices architecture (Java 17, Spring Boot, AWS, CI/CD).

You will work closely with BAs, compliance SMEs, and QAs to deliver business-critical features and ensure robust, auditable solutions across the

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience with Spring Boot.
• Strong microservices and RESTful API design expertise.
• Experience deploying to AWS and building cloud-native apps.
• Familiarity with Jira, Git, Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable cloud-native backend components using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver regulatory reporting features.
• Translate regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions for MiFID II.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and documentation; write tests and support pipelines.
• Deploy services in AWS and improve CI/CD processes.
