Job summary

First Derivative is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a fast-moving delivery team building a new regulatory reporting platform for a global financial services firm. You will work on MiFID II transaction reporting, trade transparency, and instrument data with a cloud-native microservices architecture (Java 17, Spring Boot, AWS).

Collaborate with BAs, compliance SMEs, and QAs to deliver genuinely business-critical features; participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to design,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience designing microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on in AWS and cloud-native deployments.
• Familiarity with Agile processes and tools like Jira.
• Knowledge of MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable cloud-native backend components using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver regulatory reporting features.
• Translate regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Write tests and support CI/CD pipelines in AWS.
