Job summary

DP World in Southampton is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to lead design, development and delivery of software across customs and logistics platforms. You will work with the Lead Developer and partners to build scalable, secure systems in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

The role focuses on Java, Spring, CI/CD, and modern architectures. You will mentor juniors and participate in agile ceremonies, with a hybrid work pattern in Southampton.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering software in an enterprise environment.
• Strong Java development expertise with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and relational databases.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, Git, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit/Mockito/Selenium).
• Understanding of secure SDLC and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience in agile delivery environments and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality software solutions.
• Write clean, efficient code adhering to standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with PMs, business analysts, QA, IT ops and stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and workshops.
• Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and fix issues.
• Produce technical documentation and release notes.
• Develop and execute unit/integration/ automated tests.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous improvement of processes.
• Contribute to agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
• Mentor junior developers to raise team effectiveness.
• Ensure security/compliance with internal governance policies.
