Job summary

Tenth Revolution Group is seeking a Senior Java Engineer based in Manchester (or commutable distance), with eligibility for UK SC clearance. You will design, develop, and maintain Java applications, build secure RESTful APIs, and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.

You will mentor peers, drive delivery across the full SDLC, and stay current with emerging technologies to improve system performance and security. Join a collaborative team delivering large-scale solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in Java development (including JVM-based languages such as Kotlin or Scala).
• Experience with Spring Boot and Spring MVC for RESTful APIs.
• Secure coding practices and threat assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and services.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment and support.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Design and develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support live production services.
• Champion engineering best practices, code quality, security, and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance delivery.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
