Job summary

Dabster is seeking a Senior Java Backend Microservices Engineer in Manchester to lead backend development for a banking domain project. You will work on scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, with Kubernetes deployment and modern cloud-native practices.

The role requires 8–12 years of Java experience, Java 17+, and familiarity with Oracle databases and ActiveMQ. A hybrid work model with mandatory 2 days onsite per week is in place.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of strong Java development experience.
• Java 17 or above experience is required.
• Banking/financial services experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and develop scalable microservices-based applications.
• Write clean, efficient, production-ready code and participate in reviews.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to deliver requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions.
• Work with containerized and cloud-native tech, including Kubernetes.
