Job summary

Dabster is seeking a Senior Java Backend Microservices Engineer in Manchester to lead backend development for a banking domain project. You will work on scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, with Kubernetes deployment and modern cloud-native practices.

The role requires 8–12 years of Java experience, Java 17+, and familiarity with Oracle databases and ActiveMQ. A hybrid work model with mandatory 2 days onsite per week is in place.

• Banking/financial services experience is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain high-quality backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and develop scalable microservices-based applications.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and production-ready code.
• Work closely with technical teams, architects, and stakeholders to deliver project requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and application improvements.
