Job summary

Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Engineering team, building scalable web apps and services that power critical business processes. You will lead platform services development across a distributed architecture, driving architecture decisions and owning projects with a focus on security and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering multi-tier, highly scalable, distributed web applications.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, OO design principles, and data structures.
• Strong experience with test-driven development and test automation.
• Extensive experience developing microservices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows.
• Demonstrated proactive, self-driven attitude with pragmatic trade-offs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing finance applications is a plus.
• Experience with Terraform is a plus.
• Experience creating workflows for Apache Airflow is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and services, contributing to framework and data model decisions.
• Drive architecture discussions, own projects, and deliver high-quality software on tight timelines.
• Partner with security/compliance teams to meet audit and security requirements.
• Continually improve engineering tools, cloud technologies, and development processes.
• Define and participate in Agile processes from scoping to maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
• Develop and maintain microservices using modern frameworks and cloud-native technologies.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows for reliable deployments.
