• 5+ years of experience delivering multi-tier, highly scalable, distributed web applications.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, OO design principles, and data structures.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows.
• Demonstrated proactive, self-driven attitude with pragmatic trade-offs.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing finance applications is a plus.

What is the role?

Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Engineering team, focused on designing, building, and deploying scalable web applications and services that power critical business processes. In this role, you will serve as a platform services developer, building innovative solutions using modern software frameworks and paradigms across a multi-tier, distributed architecture. You will drive architecture discussions, take ownership of new projects, and deliver high-quality software within tight timelines. You will partner closely with security, compliance, and cross‑functional teams to ensure applications meet audit, security, and compliance requirements. This role requires a self-driven problem solver with a strong background in building large-scale software platforms, microservices, and cloud-based systems. You will also contribute to the continual improvement of engineering tools, cloud-based technologies, and development processes, playing an integral role in shaping the team's technical direction.

How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, AI agents do most of the keystroke‑level coding. Engineers act as the technical leads for those agents — setting architecture, reviewing output, and ensuring everything meets Roku's quality bar.
