Job summary

SilverDoor Limited in Lancaster is seeking a Senior Systems Manager to lead, implement and maintain our global IT infrastructure from the Lancaster office. This hands-on role requires independent work and prioritisation in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on reliability, security, and policy compliance.

You will manage systems, networks, backups, and an IT inventory, while guiding a small team of engineers and ensuring ISO 27001-aligned controls across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a Systems Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and server technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office, Exchange and SharePoint.
• Experience with layer 2/3 networks, IPS/IDS firewalls, backups and Sage apps.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all systems - hardware, software, telephony, and networks.
• Oversee day-to-day system operations, on-premises networks, and server infrastructure.
• Support the management and delivery of projects according to the company's plans.
• Maintain IT Inventory across global offices and ensure tidy, organized locations.
• Develop and manage technology policies and procedures for compliance and efficiency.
• Provide technical support, training, and guidance to employees.
• Manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Monitor events and monitoring systems across platforms.
• Review system policies to align with ISO 27001 and other security frameworks.
• Lead a small team of engineers across offices per ITIL principles.
