Job summary

Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) is seeking a Principal IT Systems Engineer to lead hands-on infrastructure and platform engineering across on-premises and cloud environments. You will act as a technical authority, shaping enterprise platforms and guiding engineers within the IT Operations and Engineering team.

In this senior role, you will drive automation, IaC, CI/CD, and platform resilience while mentoring engineers and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in infrastructure, systems or platform engineering within a complex enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical authority and escalation point across infrastructure, cloud, identity and platform services.
• Provide technical leadership and deputise for the IT Systems Team Manager when required.
• Drive the design, resilience and continuous improvement of on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues and major incidents.
• Influence engineering standards, architecture decisions and platform best practices.
• Develop automation, Infrastructure as Code and reusable platform capabilities.
• Provide technical oversight of third-party suppliers and solutions.
• Mentor engineers and champion secure, resilient and automation-first ways of working.
