Job summary

Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to support our studios across Manchester, Austin, Frankfurt, and Montreal, focusing on Windows Server, virtualization, storage, and Active Directory. You will manage Defender for Endpoint, Purview, and Conditional Access, while handling cloud workloads (GCP/Azure/AWS) with IaC and patching policies.

Qualifications

• Deep, expert-level experience with Windows Server, virtualization, storage, Active Directory, and the Microsoft 365 stack.
• Hands-on experience with Defender for Endpoint, Purview, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity Management.
• Cloud platform experience (GCP, Azure, AWS) with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep or similar).
• Solid networking baseline (CCNA level): VLANs, static routing, fundamentals.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python).
• Self-directed and effective in low-maturity, high-change environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the corporate server, virtualization, and storage estate across all sites.
• Manage Microsoft security and compliance features across platforms.
• Design and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity plumbing with IAM teams.
• Operate cloud workloads and platform services with IaC and patching.
• Lead system hardening, patch management, and backup/restore processes.
• Support development infrastructure, including Perforce hosts and build servers.
• Provide cross-coverage of IT estate and participate in on-call rota.
