Job summary

Spotify’s Platform IT Studio seeks an experienced engineering leader to guide a group of Engineering Managers and roughly 50 engineers. You will set engineering strategy, raise technical practices, and collaborate with product and studio leadership to balance investment with business priorities.

You will lead by example, shaping how AI is used across the company, and ensure reliability, security, and privacy are integral to engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience and experience leading Engineering Managers across multiple teams.
• Led engineering organisations at scale and can show how technical strategies influenced outcomes.
• Experience with enterprise technology such as identity and access, SaaS platforms, endpoint management, workplace technology, architecture, or related systems.
• Improved engineering practices across multiple teams and balanced productivity, reliability, and investment.
• Developed Engineering Managers into stronger leaders with measurable growth.
• Excited about AI changing how teams work and practical experience applying AI tooling.
• Focuses on impact in performance conversations and can assess contributions across teams.
• Strategic thinker who can set direction across a broad organisation while staying close to the work.
• Communicates complex ideas clearly and fosters inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Engineering Managers across multiple teams, providing growth support and ensuring clear outcomes and engineering excellence.
• Set and communicate engineering strategy studio-wide, aligning with IT's mandate and Spotify's business needs.
• Strengthen technical judgment within the Engineering Manager group and create room for architecture and quality improvements.
• Identify patterns across teams and drive improvements in engineering practice, reliability, and ways of working.
• Establish and evolve engineering best practices and promote knowledge sharing across squads.
• Champion reliability, security, compliance, and privacy as fundamental engineering decisions.
• Shape how AI is used across the company, in both tools and day-to-day work.
• Partner with studio leadership, procurement, legal, and other teams to invest thoughtfully and solve business problems.
