Be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimising IT infrastructure for prestigious financial services clients. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise IT systems, networking, security, and cloud technologies, playing a crucial part in ensuring infrastructure security and scalability to support critical banking operations.
This position involves a mixture of technical support, BAU, and project work, set by the IT Support and Infrastructure Manager. It is an office-based role, supporting predominantly office-based stakeholders, with on-the-job learning and mentoring opportunities.
The Role
- Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
- Lead infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with company technology and business strategies.
- Manage Windows and Linux-based systems, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (365 & Azure).
- Oversee network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with banking regulations.
- Implement automation and scripting solutions (PowerShell, etc.) to improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring of infrastructure systems.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors.
- Ensure disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) strategies are in place and tested regularly.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Minimum three years' experience in IT support and customer service-focused environments.
- Professional manner with excellent communication and telephone etiquette; able to interact with all levels within the firm.
- Ability to work under pressure with an analytical mindset and persistence in solving challenging problems.
- Experience in a smaller corporate environment (<500 employees).
- Technical skills include experience with complex infrastructure spanning multiple sites, Windows Server 2016-2025, Azure Cloud/Azure AD/SSO/MFA, VMware (ESXi, vCenter), Hyper-V, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Intune, Exchange Online/Server 2019/Hybrid, Office365, SCOM/SCCM, Veeam, storage solutions like NetApp, Cisco, Fortinet firewalls, Office Add-ins troubleshooting, Mitel telephone systems, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Market Data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.), SQL Server management, and disaster recovery planning.
