Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions LTD is seeking a hands-on Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer for a 6‑month contract in Scotland. You will own physical moves, server room work, and migration planning as part of a major M&A integration.

You'll manage Dell servers, Windows Server, Hyper-V/VMware, and Cisco Meraki, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with vendors. This is a fast-paced, on-site role across Scotland sites.

Qualifications

• Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer with complex legacy environments.
• Experience in regulated sectors (FS, healthcare, life sciences, defence) preferred.
• Hands-on hardware in server and comms rooms; racking and cabling skills.
• Proficient with Dell servers, Windows Server, Hyper-V/VMware and networking.
• Experience with SaaS tenancy migrations and identity platforms (AD/Entra ID).

Responsibilities

• Assess legacy infrastructure and design pragmatic migration and remediation plans.
• Physically relocate legacy equipment between sites; rack, unrack and cabling.
• Commission new server rooms with racks, hardware population and cabling.
• Manage Dell servers, Windows Server, and virtualization environments.
• Configure and maintain NAS storage and backup using Veeam.
• Configure Cisco Meraki networking including firewalls and VLANs.
• Mentor junior team members and support migrations across tenants.
• Act as escalation point; coordinate with PMs, security teams and vendors.
